  • Future Events

    Thresher Base holds six regular meetings per year on the third Saturday of the months of January, March, May, July. September & November. Additionally, Thresher Base hosts a Memorial Day service at Albacore Park as well as the Annual USS Thresher Memorial Service, held on the Saturday closest to April 10.

  • April 11, 2015: 52nd Annual USS Thresher Memorial Service at R.W. Traip Academy

    On Saturday, April 11, 2015, the 52nd Annual USS Thresher Memorial Service hosted by USSVI Thresher Base will be held at the R. W. Traip Academy Auditorium honoring the loss of 129 crew members, US Naval Submarine Officer Observers, and civilian support personnel aboard the USS Thresher during sea trials off the New England coast 52 years ago on April 10, 1963.


    The memorial service will begin at 1300. The auditorium doors will open at 1100.


    R.W. Traip Academy is located at 12 Williams Avenue, Kittery Maine.


    USS Thresher Family & Former Crew Storyboards may be dropped off either Friday April 10, 2015 between the hours of 1600 and 1800 or anytime after 1000 prior to the service on Saturday, April 11, 1015.

  • May 16, 2015: Thresher Base Meeting at Newicks Lobster House

    The May 2015 meeting will be held on May 16, 2015 at Newicks Lobster House, 431 Dover Point Rd, Dover, NH. The meeting will start at noon, with an optional self-ordered luncheon to follow.


    As with all Thresher Base events, wives, significant others, friends and potential new members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

  • May 25, 2015: Memorial Day Ceremony At Albacore Park

    The Annual Memorial Day Ceremony hosted by Albacore Park & USSVIThresher Base will be held at Albacore Park on Monday, May 2015 at 1000.

  • July 18, 2015: Thresher Base Holland Club Induction & WWII SubVet Lobster Bake at Raymond E. Walton American Legion in Seabrook

    The July 2014 WWII SubVet & Thresher Base Lobster Fest & Holland Club Induction Ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 @ 1200 at the Raymond E. Walton American Legion Post 70, 169 Walton Road, Seabrook, NH.


    Thresher Base member David Woodman will be inducted into the Holland Club by New England Region 1 Commander Peter Koester.


    The Keynote speaker is TBD



    Reservations with meal selection & payment are required by Friday, July 10.
